Remove pops and clicks from audio

I've even tried downloading drivers from Realtek on a different computer which didn't work. The default audio drivers make a pop when the audio starts. I got an HP laptop and just installed Win 10 CU from scratch. The popping noises will only be heard when the laptop is on battery power, but this helps conserve power so the battery lasts longer.Nice! I knew it was some type of timeout when it would happen. OnlyBattery - If power management is enabled, setting this to 1 will disable power management when the laptop is plugged in. Set to 1 to disable and always prevent these noises. Default is 10.Įnabled - enables the power management. This can be configured in the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Realtek\RAVCpl64\PowerMgnt.ĭelayTime - time in seconds of inactivity which triggers powering down the sound chipset. This causes the popping noise and the high-pitched tone in the headphone jack.

The sound chipset powers down after a specified time of inactivity to save power.
